| Mr. Obee's job is to provide wisdom to the regional officers. He is now recovering from his recent surgeries. We are wishing him a speedy recovery. He almost exclusively teaches philosophy and logic, though he can and used to teach English, at Saint Clair County Community College. His hobbies include growing things, science fiction/fantasy literature. Phi Theta Kappa is not a hobby. It’s his lifestyle. | ||

Kari's job is to provide guidance and insight to the regional officer team. She was the Acting Coordinator until September 30, 2009 and was recently promoted to Regional Coordinator. She doing a wonderful job following in Mr. Obee's footsteps providing a firm backbone to our team. Kari is the Director for the Department of Learning Services at Northwestern. She has been an Advisor for Alpha Rho Pi since 1997 and has helped them go from 1 star to 5 star! Kari is also working on her dissertation for her PhD at Michigan State PhD in HALE (Higher Adult and Lifelong Education). She is married to a wonderful man named Chad, and the proud mom of Cori (one of NMC's chapter officers) and Casey, a high school sophomore. In her free time with her family, Kari is into sled dog racing and owns nine Siberian husky/malamute mix dogs. She also loves to camp and finds solace in what she considers her little piece of heaven on earth in Leelanau County—the tip of the pinkie for the MI “hand as map” folks! What excites Kari the most is seeing students grow and develop as leaders through taking advantage of all that Phi Theta Kappa has to offer! | ||

| Dan's job is to keep everyone on task, help fellow officers, answer questions about society programs and regional tasks. He also presides over all Michigan Regional Meetings, directs regional activities and projects, as well as coordinating and overseeing the Regional Awards Programs. Dan's duties also include appointing committees, and maintaining communicating and working with our sister region of Alabama. Dan is getting ready to finish his final year at Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) in Traverse City, Michigan. He is planning on graduating from NMC in the spring of 2010 with an Associate’s degree in both Business Administration and Accounting. He is looking at possibly transferring to Michigan Tech in Houghton, Michigan, getting a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business Management. Dan is currently the Chapter President for the Alpha Rho Pi chapter. His “Phi Theta Kappa Experience” first began last year when he joined and quickly became the Public Relations Officer. In his time with Phi Theta Kappa, Dan is proud to admit that it has been one of the greatest experiences and will treasure every moment. During the summer, Dan likes to work at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa where he has been employed for three years. He, specifically, works on the golf course doing multiple types of maintenance throughout each day. He also works at NMC in the Center for Learning which is a computer lab specifically for students Other than taking classes at NMC and working at the golf course, he likes to spend his free time with friends and family. His interests include sports (soccer and wrestling are his two favorites), outdoor activities (camping, swimming, etc.), and movies. He is always up for trying something new and exciting. As a Phi Theta Kappan, Dan is looking forward to “Leading the Way” and enjoying the “Phi Theta Kappa Experience.” | |

Jacob's duty is to foster communication throughout the region. He also is repsonsible for maintaining accurate up-to-date records of all Michigan chapters, keeping a record of Chapter Standings, and updating the Regional Directory. He is also in charge of taking roll call at meetings, taking minutes, assisting the President when necessary, assisting with developing the annual budget, and coordinating and overseeing Regional elections. Right now, Jacob is attending Muskegon Community College in Muskegon, MI where he is completing his Associates in Science and Art before transferring on to Art School. Right now, he has his eye on attending the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) in Savannah, Georgia for a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and double majoring in Professional Writing and Video Game Development. Jacob currently serves as the Chapter President for the Beta Xi Xi chapter. He spends most of his free time on the internet, trying to stay connected to people and furthering his knowledge. Jacob is also a blogger and maintains 3 blogs relating to his creative writing, personal interests, and his love of the arts. Also, he currently is employed in retail sales for Things Remembered. Phi Theta Kappa has been the most rewarding experience for Jacob so far, he has enjoyed his opportunities to travel to new places and make new friends from all over the country. Jacob feels the bonds he's formed so far will be invaluable in the future and he looks forward to the furthering the bonds with the members of the Michigan Region. | |

Trisha's job is to be the photographer, newsletter editor, yearbook editor and website developer. She is also responsible for the publication of the regional newsletter, she will be the one to submit your content you would like to have included. This can be articles, jokes, artwork, poetry, pictures and even recipes. Trisha also assists the President when necessary, and maintains social networking sites, fostering communication within all members of Phi Theta Kappa. Trisha is currently attending Macomb Community College in Warren for an Associate of Baccalaureate Studies. She plans to transfer to Wayne State to pursue a Master Degree in Occupational Therapy. Being involved in Phi Theta Kappa for nearly 3 years has lead Trisha to hold several positions within her chapter of Beta Lambda Kappa, including 2008-2009 Webmaster, and 2009-2010 Treasurer. She also recently attended her first International Convention held in Texas and first International Honors Institute held in Virginia, as well as numerous other events. These events have made a considerable impact on her both personally and professionally. When Trisha has free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, crocheting, doing crafts, and spending time outdoors fishing, kayaking, and camping. Her motto is Dedication, Determination, and Desire are the key to success! | |

Roger's job as the alumni representative is to represent the Michigan Region Alumni Association by assisting the current Regional Officers with decisions, and maintaining open lines of communication between the two. He organizes the Regional Officer Orientation and assists the MRAA President when necessary. While working full-time and attending college part-time, Roger has acquired two degrees from Schoolcraft College in Livonia. They include an Associate Degree in Applied Science for Accounting and an Associate in Science. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Accountancy at Walsh College . He has worked at a building supply company in accounts receivable for the past ten years. Staying active in Phi Theta Kappa for five years has lead Roger to many opportunities, including attending three International Conventions, an Honors Institute, and several regional conferences. Roger has also held many positions within the organization. These include serving as a chapter officer of Omicron Iota twice, as Vice President of Recruitment, and Vice President of Service. He has also attained positions within Michigan Region Alumni Association twice, as Vice President and as President. These are the highlights of his time with Phi Theta Kappa. In his spare time Roger also enjoys traveling and meeting new people. He has a thirst for knowledge and believes you can never learn too much! | |
